The aftermath was immediate. Phoy Vanna, a community leader in the area, reports that tourism revenue plummeted by 60% following the loss. The village, which once relied on the dolphins to draw visitors, now struggles to attract interest in the remaining natural landmarks like flooded forests and waterfalls.
